Dewi Sri Guesthouse is located in Mataram City on the beautiful yet largely untouristed island of Lombok, just a 20 minute flight from Bali. The pace of life here is more laid back and while Bali these days is a true tourist mecca, guests coming to Lombok can still expect to experience a taste of the real Indonesia.
More than that, Lombok is an island of extreme natural beauty. A short drive north or south from Mataram will lead you to some of the most beautiful, unspoiled beaches imaginable, where it is still entirely possible to find yourself alone amongst the sand, surf and gorgeous scenery. Drive to the east and you will find forests where families of monkeys are docile enough to feed by hand, where majestic waterfalls cascade into pristine rock pools and where Mt Rinjani, Indonesia’s second highest volcano, offers volcanic lakes and spectacular views to those willing to make the three or four day journey to the summit.
Unspoiled beaches are are a feature of life on Lombok.
The city of Mataram offers a mix of Islamic and Hindu cultural tradition, and while most people head to the beach locations for the best nightlife, Mataram is nevertheless an ideal base to plan and set out on your Lombok adventure or to just relax awhile and let the rest of the world pass you by. And, although it goes largely unnoticed, Mataram is home to some of the best tasting street food in Indonesia.
The guesthouse interior comprises four air-conditioned queen rooms and large, open-plan living area, surrounded by front and rear gardens, outdoor terraces and a swimming pool.
A further three rooms, overlooking our rear terrace and pool area provide shared, dormitory-style accomodation for up to 10 guests.
All our private rooms feature queen-size beds, air-conditioning, ensuite bathrooms and premium cable channels, while our shared rooms offer dedicated charging points and a choice of private or shared bathrooms.
As part of an ongoing effort to reduce carbon emissions, we are rolling out solar-powered hot water across our ten bathrooms.
A number of our rooms feature “Lombok-themed’ 3-D wallpaper to showcase some of the island’s major attractions.
With the recent addition of our Tiny House and Villa rooms, we are pleased to offer guests an expanded choice of accommodation options.
Tiny House guests can opt for the privacy of their own space (which includes a private front garden and open-air garden bathroom) but are also welcome to access the property’s common areas, including the outdoor terrace areas and swimming pool.
The Villa complex comprises three lettable spaces; downstairs, a two room self-contained apartment, and upstairs, a premium queen room and premium 2-bed dorm with shared balcony access.
Free wifi is available throughout the property and there are plenty of charging points for all your devices.
